Unspeakable grief....

It's with unbelievable angst, anger and bewilderment, that I read this article. Dijon, an energetic, passionate loving guy and a friend of mine lost his family to a fire in Stone Mountain, Georgia. I am still in shock as are hundreds of family and friends.

I first met Dijon while studying at Utech. He was the then boyfriend of Jeanette Calder, of of my best friends and a fellow Seventh Day Adventist. They eventually broke up and Dijon went on to become Student Union President and apparently moved to the US. As I look at this article online and see Dijon's image I can't help but ask of course...

why...

But as Dijon said later in the story, he places the blame squarely at the right feet..."this idiot devil". So many times we blame God for the hurt and pain we feel when tragedy strikes. But I wish us all to remember that God created this world PERFECT! The devil came and messed it up tempting Adam and Eve to sin and forever changing the course of earth's history.

The devil hates humanity, he hates our joy, he hates our potential, he will do EVERYTHING in his power to mess our lives up!

I can never feel truly say I feel Dijon's pain but I do know this:

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

Be strong in the Lord Dijon, may your reunion with your family in heaven when the Lord returns always be your blessed hope.

ATLANTA, Georgia:

HUNDREDS PACKED the New Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church in Atlanta yesterday to pay tribute to the lives of Tracey-Ann Plummer, her stepdaughter, Dilia and son Dijon.

The three perished in a fire which engulfed their five-bedroom house in Atlanta on December 22.

Yesterday's four-hour-long service was filled with tears, grief and emotion as mourners wondered aloud why such a tragedy befell such a loving family.

A FATHER'S ANGUISH

The grief-stricken father and husband, Dijon Plummer Sr., expressed his grief to the congregation as he told of the "pain" that only he could feel.
