IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!!!!

Jamaica Gleaner - Colombian shares strategies on crime - Saturday | November 13, 2004: "IN 1992, CRIMINAL activities escalated to a peak in the city of
Cali, Colombia. With a population of just over 2.5 million people,
homicide alone was occurring at a rate of 126 cases for every 100,000
persons. Guns were being purchased consistently from the army the
regulated firearms sales outlet. Holidays were becoming increasingly
unsafe and weekends had become periods of bloodbath."

Never stop praying

"And the Lord said, 'Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will
not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to
Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off? I tell you, He
will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son
of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?'" Luke 18:6-8

***************************************************

The pressing question isn't whether God will hear our prayers and
make everything right. The question is this: Will we keep praying?
God won't quit on us, but will we quit on God? That's why Jesus
asked whether "when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the
earth?" Jesus was wondering if anyone would still be praying and
believing when He returns to earth to answer our prayers and make
all things right.
There are some prayers we can let go of with relative ease. We
can get over lost opportunities, small dreams, hopes for a life that
goes a little easier.
There are other prayers where circumstances force us to let go.
God's "no" is permanent and obvious. The disease didn't go away. The
son flunked the course. The battle was lost.
But there are other prayers we cannot - should not - stop praying.
Prayers for friends who find life a constant physical or psychological
or spiritual struggle. For rulers and people in authority. For our
own and others' spiritual maturity. For loved ones and the lost
wherever they are who still don't know Christ. To give up on these
prayers denies the deepest longings of our hearts, our sense of what
is right and good, and our faith in God's power and presence. Until
God says "no" in a clear and unmistakable way, we are to pray.
That's the point of the parable. God wants us to keep on praying
and asking. Jesus is saying, Don't quit. Don't ever give up."

Wired News: Stop Trying to Persuade Us

Wired News: Stop Trying to Persuade Us: "All of this is useful information for Acxiom's clients, the
manufacturers and stores eager to sell Rushkoff just about everything
-- cars, appliances, even political candidates. Using Acxiom's
sophisticated, reverse-engineered analysis of buying patterns, these
companies may have a better chance at doing just that."

...not meant for this society

As some of my friends know I love quotes, I happened to come across this one , here, while searching for another quote on Google. I'd love to know what you think of it.

I feel like sometimes that I was born, that I'm not meant for this society because everyone here is a (expletive) hypocrite. Everybody says they believe in God but they don't do God's work. Everybody counteracts what God is really about. If Jesus was here, do you think Jesus would show me any love? Do you think Jesus would love me? I'm a Muslim, but do you think Jesus would love me... I think Jesus would have a drink with me and discuss... why you acting like that? Now, he would be cool. He would talk to me. No Christian ever did that and said in the name of Jesus even... They'd throw me in jail and write bad articles about me and then go to church on Sunday and say Jesus is a wonderful man and he's coming back to save us. But they don't understand that when he comes back, that these crazy greedy capitalistic men are gonna kill him again.
